TORONTO — Splendido’s Victor Barry, Aria’s Eron Navanski and Buca’s Rob Gentile are among a group of 10 chefs who will compete at the Toronto Gold Medal Plates competition to be held Oct. 30 at the city’s Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
“Our goal is to raise much needed funds for the Canadian Olympic Foundation as they head to Sochi for the upcoming winter Olympics,” said co-chair Scot Martin.
Other chefs competing include: Amava The Indian Room’s Heman Bhagwani, Ryby Watcho’s Lora Kirk, George’s Lorenzo Leseto, Café Boulud’s Tyler Shedden, Treadwell’s Stephen Treadwell, The Harbord Room’s Cory Vitiello and Frank Restauarant’s Jeff Dueck.
The winner of the Toronto competition will participate in the final nationwide Canadian Culinary Championships in Kelowna, B.C. in February 2014.
