TORONTO — Restaurateur Tony Loschiavo has opened L-Eat Express, a Toronto restaurant with a tricycle delivery service.

The new eatery offers local and seasonal ingredients grown at the chef’s North York, Ont., garden.

“Everything at L-Eat Express is handmade in-house. We roast turkeys, jar tomato sauce and preserves, slow cook stews, make paté, bake decadent dessert squares, have specially-pressed olive oil bottled in Italy and even scour the forest in early spring, picking ramps for pickling on site.” said Richard Arnold, L-Eat’s director of Operations.

The restaurant also offers a unique delivery service. “Toronto’s first and only delivery tricycle [is] a custom-fitted three-wheeler with an insulated box that keeps food hot or cold while avoiding the traffic snarls and parking nightmares traditional delivery methods entail,” said Loschiavo.

The eatery, at 410 Adelaide St. W., is owned by the L-Eat Group, which is comprised of two Paese Restaurants and L-Eat Catering.
