MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — More than 125 foodservice industry insiders and nine rookie singers came together recently at the Port Credit Legion in Mississauga, Ont., to make the inaugural We Care-aoke event a success, raising $9,500 to send disabled kids to camp.
The event, presented by Friends of We Care, raised money from the industry — who donated food and raffle items — and nine performers who raised more than $6,000 in pledges for their two rounds of singing on the stage.
