HALIFAX — Organizers of Apex — a foodservice and hospitality show for the Maritimes — are preparing Halifax’s Exhibition Park for the event, which runs this weekend, from April 15 to 16.
The show begins with a charity breakfast, Sunday, April 15, with chefs from Culinary Team Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia community college cooking for show visitors. Proceeds from the breakfast will support Feed Nova Scotia.
The Apex tradeshow will include a local and organic pavilion, more than 150 exhibitors, food and beverage tastings, and a culinary stage with tutorials on cooking techniques. Meanwhile, chefs will be competing to offer the ultimate burger experience.
New to the schedule this year is the Atlantic Canada awards program, recognizing foodservice industry professionals across several categories, with honours being given to Foodservice Establishment of the Year, Chef of the Year and Supplier of the Year. A Lifetime Achievement Award will be handed out at the show, followed by a networking reception.
