AVERY ISLAND, La. — McIlhenny Company, makers of Tabasco-brand products, has appointed Harold G. Osborn president and CEO.

Osborn is a fifth-generation member of the McIlhenny family. He succeeds Anthony A. Simmons, who retired this month after 19 years of service. Simmons will continue to serve on the McIlhenny Company board of directors.

“It’s been a privilege to carry on my great-great-grandfather’s legacy and to culminate my time with the company by celebrating its 150th anniversary around the world,” says Simmons. “It’s exciting to imagine what’s in store for the next 150 years.”

Osborn has served in management positions across the company for more than 20 years in operations, agriculture, land management, sustainability and new-product development. For the past six years, Osborn has led the international sales-and-marketing team, managed distributor relations and expanded distribution to 195 countries and territories. He also implemented new marketing strategies to support the company’s first global campaign.

“I’m humbled and honoured to have the opportunity to lead this great company alongside the McIlhenny family,” says Osborn. “It’s an exciting time for the Tabasco brand, as people around the world are searching for new and bold foods and flavours more than ever before. I’m energized by all the growth opportunities that lie ahead.”
