TORONTO — Oliver & Bonacini’s Babel, a Toronto restaurant that recently secured a Michelin recommendation, has closed its doors permanently. The restaurant’s final service was on New Year’s Eve.
“We launched our lovely live-fuel restaurant in late 2019, which unfortunately was only a short while before COVID forced all restaurants to be shuttered,” reads the restaurant’s latest Instagram post. “Throughout the many twists and turns of the pandemic, our team did their very best to navigate and pivot, including offering takeout and delivery, opening a bottle shop and popping up a patio in the parking lot. We are so very proud of our incredible team for their resilience, dedication and all that we accomplished together at Babel, including a Michelin Guide recommendation in 2022. Thank you all for being part of our journey. Our memories of Babel will always burn bright.”
