Dr. Jasveen Rattan, ORHMA Names New Director of Policy & Government Relations

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Dr. Jasveen Rattan will serve as the new director of Policy and Government Relations for the Ontario Restaurant Hotel & Motel Association (ORHMA), effective Apr. 1, 2024.

In this role, Rattan will report directly to the president & CEO Tony Elenis and serve as a key member of the ORHMA senior-leadership team. She’ll be responsible for advancing ORHMA’s work will all levels of government while working collaboratively with industry partners and will be building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders, industry owners and managers.

Rattan has consulted on tourism projects, published peer-reviewed papers in prominent tourism journals and presented at global conferences. Since 2020, she has served as a director of the Board for Destination Ontario (Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership), where she has played a pivotal role in crafting and implementing impactful communication strategies for promoting Ontario’s tourism sector worldwide.

She’s also a seasoned political strategist with experience spanning municipal, provincial, and federal levels. Notably, she ran as a candidate for Member of Parliament in both the 2019 and 2021 Canadian Federal Elections, demonstrating her deep understanding of political dynamics and voter engagement.
