Coming Soon: Smoke’s Poutinerie is set to open its next franchise in Hamilton, Ont.

HAMILTON, Ont. — Smoke’s Poutinerie continues to expand across the province with plans to open in Hamilton, Ont.’s Hess Village entertainment district.

The poutinerie, founded by Ryan Smolkin more than two years ago, offers the Quebec staple made with hand-cut fries, Quebec cheese curds, gravy and an abundance of toppings. The newest location, operated by Marcel and Donna Benoit, will have the unique distinction of catering to waterfront strollers during the day and the bar and club crowd at night.

The Hamilton franchisees were sold on the brand after reading about it in a magazine. “We read about the Smoke’s Poutinerie concept and product offering in Franchise Canada and believe it is the best,” said Donna Benoit. “Everyone loves a good, authentic poutine.”

The store’s grand opening is slated for July 11.
