TORONTO Sol Cuisine Inc. adds the Indian Masala and Sprouted Quinoa Chia burgers to its sought after line of frozen meatless products. Available at retail locations across North America as of June, 2013, these burgers will delight customers with their international flavours and ‘superfood’s ingredients.

Sol Cuisine has been producing healthy and delicious vegan/vegetarian foods for over 30 years. The company caters to people who have specific dietary needs and/or lead ‘sflexitarian’s lifestyles, incorporating more meatless fare into their diets. “Initial customer response has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Dror Balshine, Owner and President of Sol Cuisine. “We’sve hit a sweet spot – soy-free and gluten-free convenience food with a great taste and texture. Designed by our culturally diverse team, these products reflect our customers’s appetites for exciting foods.”

“We thought long and hard before launching these soy-free items,” says Jess Abramson, VP of Sales and Marketing at Sol Cuisine. “Although soy remains an excellent and complete source of vegan protein, studies have shown that soy allergies have increased over 50% since 1996 . We wanted to provide options for this growing customer segment.”

Indian Masala Burger
The Indian Masala Burger takes its inspiration from Aloo Tikki, a popular North Indian street food. Aloo Tikki potato-pea patties are spiced with a Masala blend including turmeric, green chili and ginger, and can be served in a sandwich, as an appetizer with chutney or as a meal with greens, legumes or starch. The Sol Cuisine Indian Masala Burger brings the authenticity of these South Asian patties conveniently to the home kitchen.
