The Works Launches Campaign in Support of Breast Cancer Research

OAKVILLE, Ont. — The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro has launched a fall fundraising campaign, encouraging customers to “Get Elked” in support of breast cancer research.

Continuing through Oct. 18, when guests select an elk burger patty for their burger, The Works will donate 50 cents from each burger sold to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. As a show of support, many of the 26 Works locations in Ontario have also been painted and/or decorated in a pink theme.

“Giving back to those in need and focusing on the communities in which we serve is an important part of our culture,” said Bruce Miller, co-owner of The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro. “We’re excited to feature our amazing elk burgers which are very similar to beef in taste but leaner, so the patty pairs well with anything from avocado and our house-made Beechhouse sauce, to peanut butter and bacon. The possibilities are endless.”

Last year The Works raised more than $13,000 in support of breast cancer research and aims to surpass that total this year.
