Boccaccio Ristorante to Re-Open in Toronto’s Columbus Centre

TORONTO ― Boccaccio Ristorante is coming back to life. The Italian restaurant, located at Dufferin and Lawrence in the Columbus Centre, will re-open on May 27 through the energy and talent of two young chefs: Luciano Schipano and Anthony Sestito.

Both chefs are known throughout the city for bringing high-quality service as well as cooking with an ethical mindset and respect for their ingredients, in an effort to serve guests delicious freshly prepared food and to provide a memorable guest experience.

The menu offers something for everyone ― from classic favourites to modern twists on old favourites ― including fresh homemade pastas, homemade mozzarella and burrata, as well as freshly baked focaccias.

The restaurant will be offering a new concept of Italian brunch with the launch of its “Make Sunday Italian Again” series featuring a three-course pre-fixed menu, served family style for $35 per person.

Boccaccio Ristorante will also be introducing a gratuity-free zone. “We believe in supporting our staff with a fair wage and work-life balance, so our terminals won’t display any tip charges and if you enjoy our service and staff, we invite you to provide gratuity at your discretion (old school),” says a release.

The restaurant will offer two separate menus ― a lunch menu for an easy and quick service to accommodate those who are out for business or during their break, and a dinner menu for a more intimate and fine-dining experience. The dining-room also has a private room that can accommodate up to 16 people and is ideal for meetings, private lunches or dinner and  workshops. There are also plans for the restaurant to offer a cooking-class program, including wine tasting, olive-oil tastings and more. It’s all part of a plan to share the team’s passion for food and Italian culture.
