LA JOLLA, Calif. — A Domino’s Pizza in La Jolla, California (Holiday Court location) is turning off its phones today to encourage customers to order pizza online, reports U-T San Diego.
“Shutting off the phones is a great test and celebration of how far we’ve come with technological innovations,” Shane Casey, franchise owner, is quoted as saying by U-T San Diego.
Orders through online portals account for 40 per cent of Domino’s sales — significantly higher in La Jolla. The La Jolla Domino’s is the first in the U.S. to go all digital.
The restaurant owners will also be offering a 50-per-cent discount on pizza purchased online today. [U-T San Diego.com]
