TORONTO — Culinary Team Ontario recently held a fundraising reception at the Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport hotel to support the team’s journey to compete at the Expogast Culinary World Cup, which will take place in Luxembourg in November. The successful event hosted 180 guests and raised more than $21,000.
The event featured a four-course fine-dining menu with wine pairings prepared by members of Culinary Team Ontario. The food, wines, auction items, location and audio visual services for the event were all donated.
Culinary Team Ontario is comprised of chefs from across Southern Ontario who have exhibited excellence in culinary skills and will represent the province with passion and pride. Team members include Tony Fernandes (team captain/manager), Ryan Marquis, Mike Dibiase, Thushara Fernando, Paul Hoag, Chaminda Palihawadana, Irene Copp (support) and Carl Copp (support).
