Lawsuit Threatened Over Transgenic Salmon

ARLINGTON, Va. — Just when you thought the matter of the P.E.I.-hatched super salmon had been put to rest, it looks like the controversial fish has at least one more opponent.

According to CBC News, The U.S. chapter of Trout Unlimited is considering its legal options if the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gives its final blessing to the genetically-modified salmon for consumption.

The salmon’s creator, AquaBounty is said to be close to having the fish, which grows at twice the normal rate, certified for sale.
