QUEBEC CITY — Quebec is extending the province’s red-zone restrictions until November 23.

The partial 28-day lockdown of Greater Montreal and Quebec City, put in place in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19, was originally set to end on October 28.

In these red-zone regions, gyms, bars and entertainment venues are closed, while restaurants are restricted to takeout and delivery. Most gatherings are also banned.

Premier François Legault has stated that financial support for businesses impacted by these restrictions will also be extended until November 23.

The province will re-assess the situation in two weeks.
