Sassafraz Unveils New Menu, Design

TORONTO — Sassafraz, in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood, has unveiled its new menu by chef Geoff Webb and a redesign by Toronto-based DesignAgency.

“What inspired us was our guests,” says founding partner Zoran Kocovski. “We spent two years talking to people, conducting formal interviews and poring over Bloor/Yorkville demographic studies before we even looked at design.”

To give the restaurant a SoHo-feel, the exterior, dining room and S-Café were redesigned to reflect life in the historic and upscale neighbourhood.

The redesign also includes a new menu from chef Webb, who says guests can look forward to internationally inspired dishes such as Cape d’Or salmon with chilled soba noodles and ponzu dressing, and classic dishes such as Fogo Island cod and chips.

The iconic restaurant, in business for 20 years, boasts more than 10,000 sq. ft. over two levels and is open for lunch, dinner, private events and weddings.
