DUBLIN, Ohio — The Wendy’s Company is making charitable donations to a variety of organizations in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom that align with Wendy’s core categories of charitable support: foster care adoption, hunger and food integrity, youth and families, and vibrant communities. Through the Wendy’s Community Giving program, company employees could request financial support for a charitable organization in the general range of $2,500 to $10,000. In all, 23 organizations were chosen and Wendy’s has pledged a total of $107,500.
Wendy’s has seven volunteer Employee Resource Groups (ERG) dedicated to creating opportunities for learning, inclusion, career growth and leadership development for company employees. Each ERG secured $5,000 grants for the following organizations:
- Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio – Columbus, Ohio
- Central Community House – Columbus, Ohio
- GLAAD – U.S.
- NIA Cultural Center, Inc. – Galveston, Texas
- Proyecto Mariposas – Columbus, Ohio
- Star House – Columbus, Ohio
- USO Ohio – Columbus, Ohio
The following organizations received grants of varying amounts based on need:
- Alvis – Columbus, Ohio
- Big Brothers Big Sisters – Houston
- Casa Valentina – Miami
- Children and Family Advocacy Center – Little Flock, Ark.
- Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida – Orlando, Fla.
- Connecticut Foodshare – Wallingford, Conn.
- Final Third Foundation – Columbus, Ohio
- Golden Girl Group Home – Ceredo, Va.
- Honor Flight Columbus – Columbus, Ohio
- Junior Achievement Worldwide
- MY Project USA – Columbus, Ohio
- One Dublin – Dublin, Ohio
- Oxfordshire Youth – Oxford, U.K.
- Raise The Future – Denver, Colo.
- Roc Solid Foundation – Chesapeake, Va.
- Toronto Foundation for Student Success – Toronto
