VANCOUVER — Burdock & Co’s chef and owner Andrea Carlson has partnered with Angela Hartnett, acclaimed chef and owner of London, England’’s Michelin-starred Café Murano, to deliver a five-course feast served at Burdock & Co on Feb. 4, 2024 for the Vancouver World Chef Exchange. The event, produced by Destination Vancouver, invites internationally renowned chefs to collaborate with local chefs.

The Vancouver World Chef Exchange is designed to share Vancouver’s culinary story with the world and bring the world’s great restaurant cities closer together by sharing ideas, experiences and talents through collaborative dining experiences. This year, four Vancouver Michelin Guide-recognized chefs tapped into their international connections, inviting one peer for this years’ series of powerhouse dinners.

Carlson’s friendship with Hartnett was born when she was invited by Destination Vancouver to London, in spring 2023 to participate in an overseas Vancouver World Chef Exchange.

“I’m honoured to partner with Angela once again to present a never-before-seen menu for the Vancouver World Chef Exchange,” says Carlson. “Angela was so gracious and welcoming when we cooked together in London, and I’m looking forward to returning the favour and introducing her to Vancouver’s incredible culinary scene. I’m confident that diners will be wowed by our collaborative feast.”

“I’m thrilled to travel to Vancouver this winter to participate in the Vancouver World Chef Exchange at Burdock & Co,” says Hartnett. “Andrea and her team are a delight to work with, and I can’t wait to get back into the kitchen with them and craft a memorable meal that Vancouver diners won’t soon forget.”

Burdock & Co holds distinction as the first female-owned and operated restaurant in Canada to earn a Michelin star.
