CCFCC Partners with TrainCan

TORONTO — The Canadian Culinary Federation (CCFCC) has entered into a partnership with the full-service food-safety training and certification company Traincan Inc., to provide four levels of food-safety training and certification to its members.

The programs will be provided in association with the Canadian Culinary Institute of the CCFCC, which administers the CCFCC certification for the Certified Working Chef (CWC) and Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) programs.

During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011, TrainCan certified 18,300 people in foodservice and food retail through programs at the employee (Basics.fst), management (Advanced.fst) and Train-the-Trainer levels as well as offering an online HACCP program for foodservice operations. Traincan also offers an online Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) program for any manager or employee who comes in close proximity to a potentially dangerous situation or hazardous material.

TrainCan is a national Canadian company headquartered in Toronto with a network of 600 trainers across Canada; its sister company is Kostuch Media Ltd., which publishes Foodservice and Hospitality magazine.
