OTTAWA — The federal government will be extending access to the Local-Lockdown Program amendments and the Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit to Mar. 12, 2022.

Under the Local-Lockdown Program, eligibility will continue to include employers subject to capacity-limiting restrictions of 50 per cent or more, and the current-month revenue decline requirement will remain at 25 per cent. Eligible employers will receive wage and rent subsidies up to 75 per cent.

Under the Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit, eligibility will continue to include workers in regions with capacity restrictions of 50 per cent or more. This benefit will provide $300 a week to workers affected by a COVID-19-related lockdown, unable to work or have lost 50 per cent or more of their income.

The Local-Lockdown Program is available until May. 7, 2022.
