VANCOUVER — Vancouver may be the next site of The World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS) WorldChefs Congress in 2018. The Canadian Culinary Federation (CCFCC) has announced it’s been shortlisted as one of three cities, including Melbourne, Australia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to present a bid to host the event.

“We are thrilled to showcase Vancouver, British Columbia and Canada during the 2014 WorldChefs Congress in Norway and are confident that the Chefs of the World will embrace our bid,” said Donald Gyurkovits, CCFCC national president. “Get ready Vancouver, we are starting to taste success and look forward to the opportunity of bringing our global culinary colleagues home to embrace our beautiful city with its outstanding international reputation for cuisine, wines, hospitality, chefs, cooks, apprentices and culinary students!”

Members will vote on the hosting city during the WorldChefs Congress in Stavanger, Norway, held on July 2 to 5.
