VANCOUVER — Robert Clark, the chef who helped spearhead the sustainable seafood movement in Vancouver, is opening his own seafood store called The Fish Counter, according to The Vancouver Sun.
Clark, who previously helmed Vancouver’s C Restaurant, told The Vancouver Sun this new venture is an extension of his passion.
“I’d like to believe I’ve accomplished a lot in 10 years in the sustainability movement. For the last five years, I’ve been doing my job but wasn’t accomplishing something for myself,” he said. “I’m young enough to have a positive impact on the retail side of seafood where people can trust you and feel confident about the seafood.”
The store, which will be located at 22nd Avenue and Main Street when it opens in August, will feature an on-site kitchen where Clark will offer live cooking classes and demonstrations. [vancouversun.com]
