TORONTO — Tabasco Brand Foodservice Canada has issued a Street Heat Junior Chef Meet challenge to culinary students across Canada to create an original street-food-inspired recipe using at least one flavour from the brand’s pepper sauce family.

“With options that are virtually limitless, we’sre looking for original international cuisine that mixes traditional ethnic flavours with the latest trends,” said Ralph Bettany, Tabasco’s corporate chef. “It’s our goal that, through the Tabasco Brand Street Heat Junior Chef Meet, we can provide students with an opportunity to showcase their talent and build the confidence to succeed in this industry.”

Three finalists will win $2,500 in cash and $2,500 in Garland prizes and be invited to Toronto Nov. 7 for a cook-off where competitors will have 45 minutes to prepare and serve their dish to a panel of judges.
